It is a warm, sunny day. You’ve just completed the monumental task of mowing your lawn. Perhaps you were washing your car. You deserve a break. You‘re hot, tired, and drenched in perspiration: your thoughts drift towards resting. But, where to rest? Where to get this much needed respite? The couch in the living room is always appealing, but you want to be outside. Besides, you don’t really feel the need to have your significant other upset with you. Then you remember, the hammock swing hammock: the present you got for your birthday. That’s it! Why not go for a swing on that hammock?
You took your time to find the most pleasant spot for it. Your choice provides the best view and the most shade. Strung up between two large oak trees, in the shade, is that hammock swing. Get yourself a glass of your favorite beverage. Or, better yet, have someone bring you a glass of your favorite beverage. Then, prepare yourself for a pleasant rest in your hammock.
You’d heard how comfortable and relaxing a hammock swing is. You remember your father kicking back in his hammock on a hot summer day. Your mother and father at times sharing the hammock; relaxing together; snuggling. You even remember watching ’Gilligan’ from ’Gilligan’s Island’ sleeping in a hammock. You never believed all the hype.
Learning to get into the hammock swing, without tipping over, can be challenging. It may take some time, but it’s well worth it. Getting out may prove to be easier than getting in, and sometimes even comical.. Once you get the swing of it, you’ll be glad you made the effort.
Once you have settled into your hammock swing and nestled in, lie back. Relax: you have definitely earned this break. Allow yourself to think of anything or nothing while you swing to and fro. Give your body some much needed rest and relaxation: picture yourself on a beach, or some far off destination. Let the swaying motion take you back to your early childhood when your parent held you and rocked you to sleep.
After all, you will want to take advantage of this opportunity: tomorrow you have to go back to work.
